PAI Skincare - Sample Pack Review

Pai Skincare Sample pack

As I'd had a particularly great experience with a sample of Pai (ref previous post), I thought I'd purchased their sample pack of products (available here if you're in Ireland ) to give some of the other moisturisers a whirl.

The pack comes with the following six sample pots:
  • Avocado & Jojoba Hydrating Day Cream - for dry skin
  • Chamomile & Rosehip Sensitive Skin Cream - for hypersensitive skin & skin prone to redness
  • Geranium & Thistle Combination Skin Cream - for combination & oily skin
  • Macadamia & Rose BioRejuvenate Cream - for very dry & mature skin
  • Camellia & Rose Gentle Hydrating Cleanser - for dry & delicate skin
  • Kukui & Jojoba Bead Skin Brightening Exfoliator

It also ships with a free unbleached organic muslin cloth.

Each of the above contains a 5ml sample, which is more than enough for approximately four-five days of usage (the exfoliator is 4ml), which is extremely decent for just a fiver!  Note that the €5 also includes delivery - so you're getting (worst-case) five days of moisturiser, two-three days of cleanser and one-two days of exfoliator, together with a free muslin cloth for this sum.  Best-case, if they suit your skin, you can use all of the moisturisers and net yourself twenty days of moisturising goodness :-)

All of Pai products are aimed at sensitive skin, and certainly my skin qualifies as this; extremely dry and sensitive across the cheekbones, rosacea-prone on my cheeks and nose, deyhdrated but combination T-zone.  Problematic, in other words.  In addition, my OH has also got extremely sensitive, and sensitized, skin, prone to dryness and in general reacts quite vigorously to products he's not used to.  So I figured we could both use the products and compare notes.

The upshot?  I found that I could use any of the moisturiser products included with the sample pack with reasonable success.  Probably the best combination for my skin was the Macadamia & Rose BioRejuvenate Cream as a night cream, and either the Geranium & Thistle Combination Skin Cream or the Avocado & Jojoba Hydrating Day Cream as a day cream.  My OH found that the only one that really worked for him (in terms of moisturisation/hydration) was the Macadamia & Rose BioRejuvenate Cream.

The cleanser is actually very good - it removed heavier makeup with no difficulties - very heavy eyeliner still required the use of the bigger guns, but frankly, I find that this is the case with all cleansers.

The exfoliator is particularly gorgeous and left my skin feeling soft and refreshed and relaxed, probably due in no small part to the oils contained therein (which may or may not suit all skin types).

As before, I am extremely happy to recommend these and will most certainly purchase when I need my next moisturiser.  The company are also a pleasure to deal with, shipping is fast and inexpensive, and there are economies to be made if you are purchasing in bulk.
