Try saying that three times!  As a lover of All Things Inglot, I'm delighted to pass on some PR news to you - Inglot's Irish online store launches tomorrow, 1st of October.  In conjunction with the launch, there are a handful of new products to report (brief preview below) and also another announcement, there's a Cork store, yes, Cork is finally getting their own Inglot store (MontyC, who lives in Cork, will no doubt be delirah!) - opening around the end of the month (October).  Happy days!

Vichy Normaderm Night Detox - preview

It has been a while since I've posted a preview post and this one certainly looks interesting - Vichy have released a new product, Normaderm Night Detox, the world’s very first detox & purifying night cream for oily skin ladies and gents.

Oily skin produces three times more sebum than that of normal skin, and skin produces most of its sebum around midnight, so you'll always find that your skin (whatever its type) is oilier in the morning than later on in the day.  This excess sebum is visible the next morning and is most noticeable around noon, as it takes around twelve hours for this excess sebum to be excreted to the surface of the skin.  If you have oily skin, this explains why your make-up always disappears by around about lunchtime!

Écriture de Chanel Stylo Eyeliner - review

Chanel's latest liquid eyeliner (pen format).  My new BFF and E and E...

This stuff is really lovely.  Sorry, becuz cheap it ain't.  €33.50 will net you one of these beauties, which in my very humble opinion, is slightly Taking The P*** for an eyeliner.  That said, I took advantage of a bunch of BT points and snapped it up for a fraction of that, and well, I wanted to try it... in the interest of reporting back to you guys, of course.  Ahem...

Clarins Ladylike Collection: Look of the day

Rather than just doing a review of some of the Clarins Ladylike Collection pieces I've been trialling, I thought I'd do a quick Look of the Day post instead.  Bear with me... I've never done one of these before!

Note that mostly Clarins products were used for this tutorial, however some other products of course were also used.
Warning: picture-heavy post.

Clarins Super Restorative Night moisturiser - preview

Clarins have re-launched their re-worked Super Restorative Night moisturising cream.  This is one for more mature skin (Clarins target the Fifty+ And Fabulous group!), or skin that has suffered hormonal changes.  If that's you, step this way!

Chanel Collection États Poétiques - first impressions

First of a few quick posts for this week (I'm trying something new!)  Also, MontyC has been on vacation so I'm filling-in today...

Chanel Autumn 2014 Collection États Poétiques - preview

Chanel Autumn 2014 États Poétiques campaign visual

Chanel's Autumn (Fall) Makeup Collection for 2014, États Poétiques ("Poetic States") draws inspiration from a the colour pink, interpreted in a spectrum of shades, from fragile pale and shimmery pinks, through intense, bright and raspberry pinks.

There are some interestingly determined monochrome eyeshadow shades;  pinks feature, as mentioned, and are joined by purple and blackcurrant and bold yellow tones (I will be getting this one, it's so hard to get a really good pigmented yellow).  Three interesting nail polish shades join the line-up, and two understated lip glosses and some new lipsticks.  An all-new eyeliner in both black and brown, along with some other bits and pieces.  Read on...

Inglot Summer Launch 2014 - preview

This collection is completely and utterly calling out to me.  Inglot are releasing completely new Sculpting Powders (like I don't have enough highlighting and contouring products!) and new Matte Lipsticks in their Summer launch.

MAC Proenza Schouler - review

The MAC Proenza Schouler collection has been on-counter now for a while, it's all LE (limited edition) and (as far as I'm aware) not available through MACCosmetics.co.uk online, so it's possible that a lot of the range has gone by now.  I finally got around to taking a look at (what was left of) the collection last week, and was somewhat non-plussed overall.  However for all that I did manage to make some purchases :-)

The collection as a whole features two eyeliners, two lip liners, two blushers, four lipsticks with four matching nail varnishes, and one brush (129SE).  All are LE (the brush is a permanent collection brush, this is simply LE handle, to match the Proenza Schouler packaging).

Chanel Collection Reflets d'Été (Summer 2014) - preview

This is a sizzling hot colour-drenched Summer collection in radiant pinks and oranges, dazzling golds and bronzes.  It's what Summer actually was last year in Ireland.  It's what I'm keeping my fingers and toes crossed for this year (a gal can wish).  The collection is one I eagerly await each year (who am I kidding, I await all Chanel collections!) and sees products, as per usual, in each of the lips-eyes-face-nails categories...

Chanel - Some News

Poor old MontyC (less of the old, perhaps!) is ill and I'm filling in for her usual Mondays With MontyC slot;  sorry folks, you're stuck with me today!  I had planned to do this post later on in the week, but because she's such a Chanel nut (it was she who got me addicted to All Things Chanel!) in honour of herself, today is Chanel day.  I have a few things to post about, so I'm going to get started.

Illamasqua Summer 2014 - preview

OK so I'm a weensy bit late with this one.  Illamasqua's Summer launch is all about matte this year.  I love Illamasqua, they're ever-directional, don't follow trends, fly in the face of the norm, and definitely no stranger to all things theatrical when it comes to makeup.  So, instead of the usual golden-bronze shiny dewy skin of most summer collections, we see, interestingly, matte, matte, matte, and a majorly-inspired-by-the-80's campaign.

Four matte blushers, three matte lipstains, a matte primer and a matte nail top coat.  Lovely hurling.  Let's delve in...

Inglot Eye Lux - preview

Inglot's newest product launch is all about the eyes!  Three entirely new products are added to the already impressive range of products; a felt tip liner, a new mascara and and eyelash serum.

Chanel Les Beiges - preview

Chanel Les Beiges Summer 2014

A busy week for Chanel Launches.  Whereas we have just seen the new launch of Chanel N°5 Eau Premiere (look here) on-counter, tomorrow (9th May) will see the latest launch of products under the Chanel Les Beiges umbrella.  March last year saw the release of a bunch of new and extremely fiiiiiiine Les Beiges pressed powders (look here);  this time around, we are seeing two new Healthy Glow Multi-Colour bronzers (although "bronzer" doesn't do them justice) and a new formula All-in-one Healthy Glow Fluid.

Chanel N°5 Eau Premiere

I'm a little behind with releases, but on 5th May (although still wasn't in Brown Thomas yesterday), Chanel launched a new take on its N°5 Eau Premiere perfume, a "new approach to the N°5 experience", formulated back in 2008, and now, in 2014, adopting the legendary N°5 iconic all-glass bottle.

Clarins Summer 2014 Campaign: Colours of Brazil - preview

Clarins Summer 2014 Colours of Brazil - Campaign Visual

I love this visual - it's super-simple but drenched in Summer influences.  This collection sees super-saturated brown-red packaging and sparks of cobalt blue (arguably my favourite colour, ever), combined with golds and natural beige-influenced shades, along with a wide range of lip shades, one for "everyone in the audience", as the man said.

Dermablend New Innovations Launch - preview

Dermablend Innovations - new products for 2014

Ooooooooh you should all be superduper excited about this one.  If you don't already know, Dermablend is a product range from Vichy which has been one of the simplest to use, most pigmented, most useful across different skin-types and concerns, most suited to pretty much everyone, most available in most pharmacies and most of all, really mostly not expensive at all at all.  It's one of those quiet, unassuming, no mess no fuss, no bells and whistles but really really good foundations.  Makeup junkies, makeup artists, bloggers, celebrities have been recommending this for years.  This is is the number one recommended "skincare" foundation by dermatologists in the US and the number one overall bestselling correcting/camouflage foundation in the USA, if I have my stats right.  Quietly impressive and impressing those in the know since 1981.

Around since 1981, this range has had a re-boot and sees the launch of a new compact (cream-based) foundation, concealer and body foundation, joining the (relatively new - a few years old I think?) fluid foundation and setting powder (apparently a miracle product in its own right - must try it out).
