MontyC's Monthly Favourites: October 2014

           MontyC's October Favourites

October has been another mental busy month with work for me so the products mentioned here are combination of old faves and new discoveries. But believe me they all earn their keep and that's why I love 'em.  So here goes...

1.  Bioderma Sensibio H20 Solution Micellaire

What I can say about this stuff.  When it comes to micellar waters, this one is the daddy of them all.  There are tons of these kinds of products on the market but for me, this one is the best there is.  Bioderma do several different ones and as you can see the one I have is for sensitive skin.  While I usually double cleanse when I've been wearing makeup (most days!) but in real life there are always occasions when I just don't have time to do that.  This takes off every scrap of (light) makeup really quickly.  I stock up mine at www.escentual.co.uk (or anytime I'm in France... which is not often enough!)

2.  Yves Saint Laurent Youth Liberator Foundation

I've had this foundation for ages (I reviewed it here) and likewise haven't worn it in ages (no particular reason) until this month.  This makes me look polished and pulled together regardless of how tired and cranky I might actually feel.  It's definitely one for slightly maturing skin onwards, but if you need your game face on, you won't go wrong with this.

3.  Estée Lauder Double Wear Brow Pencil

I had used up my usual brow pencil by Clinique and bought this as a replacement on a whim (that and being ignored at the Clinique counter I went to.  As Julia Roberts said in Pretty Woman,  "Big mistake.  Huge"... so I took my wallet elsewhere).  The very helpful and friendly SA at Estée Lauder coloured-matched me inside a second.  Not only is the colour absolutely spot on for me, but the formula of the pencil is such that it doesn't look drawn on.  Not only do my brows look groomed and tidy but they still look like my own brows,  it's not obvious that they've been helped!

4.  Bourjois Magic Nail Polish Remover

Damn right it's magic.  This has to be one of the greatest inventions since the wheel.  You stick your finger in wriggle it around, nail varnish removed.  Boom.  Done.  At this time of the year, I prefer to wear darker shades on my nails.  But darker shades are not forgiving once they start to chip so as soon as that happens, they come off.  And this little gadget is the quickest and easiest way to do it.  Ok, it takes longer than a second but hey who's counting.  Cheap as chips and lasts forever.  Cannot recommend this enough.

5.  Vichy Aqualia Thermal Power Serum

Christmas is on its way and the dosh has got to go that bit further for Christmas presents but your skin badly needs a helping hand now that the weather has closed in and the heating is on.  You can't buy anything too spendy so what do you do?  Go down to your nearest Boots and buy this and you'll have change out of €23.  This is a recent discovery for me and boy am I glad I found it.  This is designed to give dehydrated skin a much need boost of hydration and that is exactly what it does.  Every skin type would benefit from this (yes even oily skins can be dehydrated!).  I love this.  And the price... did I mention the price?!

Until next Monday!
