Winter-time Skincare Regime

My current skincare regime

I personally love these posts - I love to know what everyone is using on their face.  So, here is my current winter-time skincare regime...

Weekday schedule... it's not all this grey!
Monday - Friday
Skincare AM
Skincare PM
Cosmetics
  • Office makeup, face goes on around 6:30 and doesn’t come off until around 23h00.  Products and amounts vary according to how early I’ve managed to get up, but usually I allocate 15 minutes to my face.  I try to stick to lighter products like Chanel’s CC cream as a base at least so as not to overload my skin.

Saturdays... full on makeup :-)
Yeah, if only I looked like this :-)
Saturday
Skincare AM
  • Skincare AM Natura Bissé AHA (cleanser)
  • Chanel Le Weekend (replaces serum & moisturiser, contains AHAs)
  • CDLM Eyecream
  • Chanel SPF 50
Skincare PM
  • Shu Uemura oil cleanser (makeup remover)
  • Chanel Le Weekend (replaces serum & moisturiser, contains AHAs)
  • CDLM Eyecream
Extra-care
Cosmetics
  • Full face.  Products and amounts vary according to my mood but I tend to do something fun or challenging at least!  Base tends to be a bit heavier on Saturdays as I’m usually on the go/out/in town/visiting friends & family/travelling.

Sundays are makeup-free days :-)
Sunday
Skincare AM
  • Same as Saturday
Skincare PM
  • Same as Saturday
Extra-care
Cosmetics
  • I try to avoid wearing any at all on Sunday to give my face a chance to breathe.

And that's it!  So, when I'm trialling products for review (which is a lot of the time), I try to sub-them into the routine above to give them at least a week of usage (unless they really really really are not working for me after 2-3 days).  Some products are trialled for longer than a week (eg any product that claims to need X amount of time to produce best results).

I will likely more or less stick to this routine for another couple of years, when I find it will probably needs some tweaking (no, not twerking!) and I'm sure by then I'll have discovered new Holy Grail products.  That's the point really, as we get older, then we need to keep changing up our routines to fit the needs of our skin at that point in time.  The only product in the line up above that I’ve used for the last twelve years is CDLM eye cream/moisturiser - everything else has changed with new discoveries and changes to my skin.  Although I do have to say that I'm heading more and more in the direction of Chanel as I get older... which reminds me that I do have the Chanel Sublimage range to review... must get around to that!
