Vichy Aqualia Thermal Dynamic Hydration Serum - First Impressions

For today's Mondays with MontyC, I'm talking about Vichy's Aqualia Thermal Serum.  I've been meaning to get my hands on this for I don't know how long now.  What prodded my brain into action was Instagram; more to the point Sali Hughes' Instragram picture of this product, along with two other favourite products of mine (Chanel's Hydra Beauty Nutrition (moisturiser) and Clarins Blue Orchid (face oil)), all of which she had used that day.  Sali (among others) have been talking this serum up for ages... and I'm happy to report that it really is all that... and now it's my turn.

Given the weather has now turned decidedly wintery and most of us will be out in it and then inside in warm offices and than back out in it again (and generally just  trying to get through our days without either getting soaked or frozen to the spot) our skin takes a right hammering over the winter months so it's important to give it all the help you can (regardless of what skin type you might have).  We all need something extra at this time of the year.  This is where a hard working serum comes in.

So may I draw your attention (and your wallet) to this product!  I picked mine up in Boots for... wait for it...  €22.49!  Given how much I've been known to spend on my skincare this is a total result for me price-wise.  However, onward to the product itself.  Is it any good?

As you can see from the back-of-my-hand splodge, it's a pale white/almost clear gel.  One pump does my face and neck comfortably.  It spreads and blends into the skin incredibly easily.  Once on the skin it feels cool and  refreshing, a sensation I particularly like. This serum is aimed at dehydrated skin and while mine isn't as such, it still drinks this up like nobody's business.  According to Vichy, this product is designed to "instantly infuse moisture throughout the layers of hate upper epidermis leaving the skin instantly hydrated, soothed and fortified".  Well even though I've only used it a handful of times, I can definitely testify to its hydration and soothing properties.  The fortification thing I might leave to my Friday night tipple ;-)

Dehydrated skin lacks moisture and you have any type of skin, from oily to dry and everything in between, and still have dehydrated skin.  Even if you don't have dehydrated skin (like me) but  still want something decent that gives you that extra layer of comfort and hydration and won't break the bank, this is it.  This was love at first pump for me :-)  And it's 23 quid!  Mind=blown.  Highly recommended.  Look here for more info.
