Yep, it really is called "Delicious Cream" ! |
"Bring me sunshine, bring me love..." Yes please! Summer is coming. The sun is indeed a wonderful thing but deserving of our respect. If you're going to be out in the sun, be sensible about it and wear SPF. Personally, I never wear anything less than SPF30. I know there are higher available but I do believe it's good for you to get some sun, in a safe and healthy way. There are tons of sun cream brands on the market now, so you have no excuse. And amongst the nicest I've ever tried is the new NUXE Delicious Cream for Face.
Today's Mondays with MontyC is happening on a Tuesday. Well spotted. Bank Holiday Monday yesterday, y'see, and Make Up For Dolls takes a well-deserved day off to extend the weekend!
Back to today's post. I'm a massive fan of the NUXE dry oil and have been using it for years now (Mr. MontyC loves it as well) and I was seriously impressed with this eye cream, also by NUXE, so when I got the chance to try out their new Delicious Cream for Face High Protection SPF 30 sun cream, I jumped at the chance.
NUXE Delicious Cream: back-of-hand splodge |
The tube is a handy 50ml portable size. The cream itself is off white with a slight trace of a golden tone. It's suitable for all skin types and is very smooth to the touch. Unlike a lot of other sun creams for your face, this one does not leave a white veil on your skin (which I really don't like). It blends in very easily and - another plus - doesn't leave a sticky residue. I've worn this a lot now under makeup (anything from tinted moisturiser to a more heavy coverage foundation) and I've had no problems with it causing piling or separation or patchiness at all. I've worn it over moisturiser, instead of it, and both over and under a primer. All fine.
Something of note - I did find its description a little confusing; it describes itself as an "Anti-Aging Cellular Protection Sublime Tan" which to me reads as if this product is a self-tanner/fake tan for your face with an SPF. It isn't. It's a sun protection cream, not a self-tanner. Just in case anyone else is confused, too :-)
One big thing to mention here - the fragrance and the strength of it. Personally, I absolutely love the NUXE scent, but if it's not to your liking, then this sun cream may not be the one for you. The scent is really very quite strong when it first comes out of the tube but it does settle down after a few minutes.
This will set you back €19 and if you're in the market for a new face sun cream (note that you should be replacing your SPF cream every year, its efficacy diminishes with time once it has been opened by the way) then I heartily recommend your check this one out (just keep the scent in mind). Buying sun cream makes me smile :-) It means that sunny days are around the corner!
Until next time,
MontyC
