Clarins Instant Light Radiance Boosting Complexion Base 01/Rose 02/Champagne 03/Peach |
Featuring in the Spring 2014 makeup collection (Opalescence) from Clarins, this is a re-formulation of the existing Clarins Instant Light Radiance Boosting Complexion Base and comes in three shades - this one is a review of the darkest of the trio, #03/Peach, a peach-toned illuminator and more suited to far more tanned complexions than mine.
This one is going to be a really quick review - because although I can happily wax lyrical about the finish of this product (it gives a beautiful healthy non-shimmery glow to the skin, and works especially well under foundation), the colour doesn't work for me. It's just a little too orange toned and not quite dark enough to be useful on my skin as a bronzer, and a little too dark to be useful as an highlighter. It could be usable in the summer-time as a subtle blusher, if that colour suited me (sadly it doesn't). So, into my kit bag it shall go for darker skinned lovelies.
Here's a swatch and you'll see what I mean:
A better bet for my skin colouring would be the #02/Champagne version of this (a far paler, and more golden-yellow-toned variant). Colour aside, however, this has a gorgeous finish, and wears beautifully, doesn't pile or bead under foundation at all. Look here for more information on this collection and this product.
This was gratefully received as a PR sample.
