Remember when you were in your twenties?  When you could eat and drink whatever you liked, and you (thought you) could slap any old thing onto your face (Makeup, sure.  Skincare, what was that now?!) and not worry too much when you remembered to take it off again?  As my thirties came into view, I copped on and began to take care of my skin, the party years were starting to show, it was time.  One of the best things I did back then was to start using an eye cream.  The products have changed down through the years, but every morning and every evening, regardless of what other skin care products or routine I'm using at the time, on goes an eye cream.  Has doing that made a difference? Yes, I genuinely believe it has.

I've tried a lot of eye creams over the years and I've yet to encounter a bad one per se - I've used a lot of so-so ones which I'm indifferent to - they seemed to have no effect whatsoever.  My current eye cream however, is so good, I want give it a pet name.  Its real name is Capture Totale Multi-Perfection Eye Treatment by Dior.  The Capture Totale range is Dior's "First Signs of Anti-ageing" skincare range.

So, let's get down to the business end of things.  I have quite fine lines underneath my eyes and I can see an improvement in the texture of the skin in that area - it definitely looks smoother.  I don't have a problem with dark circles but I do look slightly brighter underneath my eyes.  I do occasionally suffer from puffiness under my eyes and this most certainly helps with that - however it doesn't happen on a regular basis, so I can't comment on whether or not this would help out with that issue longer term.

Texture-wise, it's a creamy texture that feels soft to the touch.  When I apply it, I can almost feel it melting into my skin.  As with all eye treatments, (a) a little bit goes a long way and (b) a soft touch is mandated - the skin around your eyes is very delicate, so light tapping motions with your ring finger is all you need to apply this stuff.  I like to use it right from the inside corner all the way beyond the outer corner of my eye.

Price-wise, I am happy enough with the results, so much so that I have just bought my second pot as I'm almost out of my first one. Believe me, this isn't something I'd do lightly given that it's €96 a pot - expensive, but one pot will last me at least six months (times twice a day, seven days a week) - so an outlay of approximately €16/month or thereabouts.  For me, it's worth it.  I wear glasses and any puffiness and lines are exaggerated by the lenses.  This one just works and I'm happy to stick with it and recommend it on...
