Chanel Stylo Eyeshadow in Moon River

Latest purchase - it's less pinky-minky-taupe in real life...

Having already purchased the Stylo Eyeshadow in Pink Lagoon, I was really sitting on my hands, waiting for payday, trying to distract myself in all manner of ways to avoid purchasing any more of these.

Eventually, I gave in and splurged on Moon River, a divinely beautiful "platinum shot through with metallic taupe" - descriptions really don't come any closer to reality than this one, lifted straight from Chanel's own PR text.

This stuff is gorgeous.  It's very shiny and metallic and yet I have been - successfully - wearing it to work, not worried about it being over the top at all.

Moon River - looking a lot more brown-based here than it does on my eyeballs...

I've mainly paired it with either the pink one (Pink Lagoon) and my YSL Babydoll liner, or a black cream shadow (Shiseido) at outer edges with MAC Coffee pencil smudged close to the lashline, or a simple slick of it all on its own-io with a clean graphic black liner (Illamasqua's is my current love).

Here's the skinny: it looks nice and taupey on my arm swatch.  On my eyes, it comes up more platinum-with-a-hint-of-taupe.

Not much else to say about this one, except that I love this formulation so much that I'm trying really really hard not to go out and buy all of them.  And backups.  Just in case.

For reference, you'll see more information on the overall collection here, and more information on other purchases I made from this release here.  They're limited bloody edition, which is my Achilles' heel right there - tell me something is LE and I want it all the more.

I want the black one now.  And the gold one...
