Cover | FX Illuminating Setting Powder (medium) - review

Oh how I love thee, let me count the ways!  This, Cover | FX Illuminating Setting Powder, is my latest "find", in Space NK I think I got it, in a recent-ish Harvey Nics event, in the goodie bag.  Of course, it's beyond too dark for me (this one is the medium shade), but it does the trick nicely as a lovely (slightly sheeny) bronzer.

Creme de la Mer: the three cream moisturisers - review

Creme de la Mer... The Trio: The original Moisturising Cream, the Moisturising Soft Cream and the Moisturising Gel Cream... all the same crazy price (€135) and all, I'm sorry to report, bloody brilliant :-)

Clarins Ladylike Collection: Look of the day

Rather than just doing a review of some of the Clarins Ladylike Collection pieces I've been trialling, I thought I'd do a quick Look of the Day post instead.  Bear with me... I've never done one of these before!

Note that mostly Clarins products were used for this tutorial, however some other products of course were also used.
Warning: picture-heavy post.

My favourite yellows

I have been waxing lyrical about yellows lately (here, here and here) - I am somewhat obsesseed!  And someone asked me why, as it's not a colour you'd get asked to use very often on Irish faces.  I actually love yellow - I think it's striking and unusual, but it's hard enough to get a decently pigmented one that translates from pan to face, and that lasts, so I'm always on the look-out...

Sisley Hydra-Global Intense Anti-Aging Hydration moisturiser - review

Last Friday was the turn of a newly formulated night cream, today on Mondays with MontyC we're turning back to a fantastic daytime offering, Sisley's Hydra-Global Intense Anti-Aging Hydration moisturiser.

Oh how I wish I didn't like this stuff so much!

Clarins Super Restorative Night moisturiser - preview

Clarins have re-launched their re-worked Super Restorative Night moisturising cream.  This is one for more mature skin (Clarins target the Fifty+ And Fabulous group!), or skin that has suffered hormonal changes.  If that's you, step this way!

Sleek Rio Rio Palette - review

Sleek Rio Rio palette

Another palette from Sleek, another winner!  I really can't praise Sleek eye makeup enough - I have quite a few of their palettes and frankly, they're brilliant.

Rimmel Wonder'Full Mascara with Argan Oil - review

Having heard amazing things about this latest release from Rimmel, I was keen to try out the Wonder'Full Mascara for myself.  I'm a fan of Rimmel mascaras, my favourite mascara of all time was their Sexy Curves (sadly it now seems to be discontinued).  I needed a new mascara like I needed a hole in my head, but hey, all in the name of research, right?!

Bourjois Liner Clubbing Ultra Black - review

Another drugstore (Superdrug) purchase, this time the turn of the Bourjois Liner Clubbing in Ultra Black.  I'd left my beloved Dior liquid liner behind on a recent trip "up north" so I purchased this one to do me for the evening that was in it.  What did I think?  So-so...

Chanel Collection États Poétiques - first impressions

First of a few quick posts for this week (I'm trying something new!)  Also, MontyC has been on vacation so I'm filling-in today...

Sleek Waterproof Black Mascara - review

Mascara is my can't-leave-the-house-without-it cosmetic, so here's yet another mascara review (and there will be many more, I can assure you!).  I believe that by defining your eyes with a little wiggle of the good ol' black shtuff you can instantly transform your naked face into a more polished and sophisticated You (appearance-wise anyway).  Boom (yes I said it) - suddenly you look a little less raw and a little more like you mean business.  Or think you look like you mean business.  It doesn't make any difference to my kids whether I look like I mean business.  But it matters to me :-)

This Friday I'm reviewing the Sleek Waterproof Black Mascara (I have noted that they have also launched a waterproof mascara in clear, which I would definitely be interested to try out over a black base - Clarins do one of these and it's the shizzle).

Garnier Miracle Skin Perfector BB Cream - review

There are a few of these in the range of BB Creams from Garnier, this one, the Garnier Miracle Skin Perfector BB Cream is the "one-size-fits-all" varietal (there's also one for oily skins, sensitive skins, older skins, etc).  At only €14 for a 50ml tube, this was worth a go I reckoned.  Oh how wrong was I...

Chanel Autumn 2014 Collection États Poétiques - preview

Chanel Autumn 2014 États Poétiques campaign visual

Chanel's Autumn (Fall) Makeup Collection for 2014, États Poétiques ("Poetic States") draws inspiration from a the colour pink, interpreted in a spectrum of shades, from fragile pale and shimmery pinks, through intense, bright and raspberry pinks.

There are some interestingly determined monochrome eyeshadow shades;  pinks feature, as mentioned, and are joined by purple and blackcurrant and bold yellow tones (I will be getting this one, it's so hard to get a really good pigmented yellow).  Three interesting nail polish shades join the line-up, and two understated lip glosses and some new lipsticks.  An all-new eyeliner in both black and brown, along with some other bits and pieces.  Read on...

Estée Lauder Advanced Night Repair II - review

As last week featured a Bank Holiday Monday over here in Ireland, and we don't post on public holidays on Make Up For Dolls, and as Siobhán has been up the walls with bridals and trials and whatnot, today features another blog by me, MontyC!

In the second of my Estée Lauder serum reviews (first one is here), I'm going talk about... oh I should be honest here... rave about the reformulated serum by the cosmetics powerhouse.  This product, the Advanced Night Repair II serum is one of Estée Lauder's best-selling products.  So if it ain't broke, why did they go and fix it?  Well the science of skincare has come on in leaps and bounds, so Estée Lauder decided it was time to update the formula in keeping with these more recent advances.

Estée Lauder Revitalising Supreme Creme - review

For today's Mondays With MontyC, I'm featuring another case of the accidental review.  Several weeks ago now, I went to Estée Lauder with the sole intention of asking about their Advanced Night Repair II serum (see tomorrow for a review of this!) and I came away with samples of the Perfectionist serum and samples of this moisturiser, the Revitalising Supreme Creme.  I liked the serum, so, how did I get on with the moisturiser?

Yves Saint Laurent Forever Youth Liberator Serum - review

Happy Friday y'all!  Today I'm reviewing the Yves Saint Laurent Forever Youth Liberator Serum.  I acquired for myself several 7ml samples of this serum, and despite having heard very mixed reviews, I was eager to try it out for myself.
