My First Charlotte Tilbury Purchases - review

Charlotte Tilbury is a phenomenon.  A walking, talking, force of nature.  Not only is she one of the most sought after makeup artists on the planet, she is also unbelievably passionate about makeup and the power of it.  Charlotte does glamour like no-one else.  With her makeup line (which only launched in September 2013) she's brought her backstage know-how, passion and red-headed glamazon fabulousness to the masses.  She believes that makeup is for everyone and not just for those who may know how to use it.  Her products have been made with everyone in mind, from fellow makeup artists to the person who may not know one end of a makeup brush from the other.

To start off with, I chose three products from her makeup line (believe me, it was really tough to only choose three!) - a lip lustre called Seduction, a lipstick called Bitch Perfect (I know!) and Cheek to Chic blusher called First Love.  So, let's crack on and take a look at them in more detail.

So what are the products like - any good?

They're not just good, they rock.  They're a pleasure to use.  You can tell that a lot of time (and money) went into to the formulation of her products (CT believes above all else that "formula is king").

Charlotte Tilbury lipgloss in Seduction

The lip luster is soft and creamy and glides on effortlessly;  no sticky lips here!  The colour payoff is fantastic so a swipe or two of the product is more than enough.

The colour I have (Seduction) is a true pale peachy nude that looks gorgeous on its own or layered over a lipstick (especially if you wanted to peach-up the colour a bit).

Charlotte Tilbury Lipstick in Bitch Perfect

The lipstick (Bitch Perfect - I just had to buy it with a name like that) is also super soft and creamy.  Again, the colour payoff is really good.

On me the colour is a rose gold/nude-y, peachy colour (which I love) but you could pink or peach it up more depending on whatever lipliner or gloss you put with it.

Charlotte Tilbury Blusher in First Love

The Cheek to Chic blusher in First Love is, hands down, the most beautiful blusher I own (for reference I have one Mac blush, three Chanel blushes and two from Illasmasqua).  It is so soft and light you hardly know you're wearing it.

There are two colours in the pan.  The outside colour is a light golden peach and the colour in the middle a soft, muted peach.  The reason for the two colours in the pan is because Charlotte recommends that this product be applied using the "swish and pop" method - what this means is that you "swish" your blusher brush in the colour on the outside and apply that your cheeks, and then dip your brush into the "pop" colour in the centre and then apply that on top (I've tried this way of doing it and it really does help make the whole look so much more natural).

Where can I buy these beauties and how much do they cost?

The Charlotte Tilbury range is available in store and online at Selfridges, on her own website (here) and on Net-A-Porter (which is where I bought mine).  The cost of shipping can be on the saucy side so if you think it's too much, take a look at alternative shipping options such as Parcel Motel (if you're in Ireland).  In terms of the price of each product, the lip lustre was €20, the lipstick was €28 and the blusher was €36.

Final thoughts

I absolutely love these products.  The quality is top notch (as I expected from the mighty CT) and they're a pleasure to use.  There is some serious love for her range online (from the professionals to the amateurs like myself) and I can see why.  This range is good.  Really, really good.  Worth every penny in my humble opinion and I for one plan to get more, over time.

Until next time,
MontyC
