Dermalogica Multivitamin Power Recovery Masque - review

Dermalogica Multivitiman Power Recovery Masque

If there's something weird and it don't look good, who you gonna call... Ghostbusters! (Or Dermalogica in this case)...

That surely has to be the weakest link you'll read this month but it was an excuse to get in a quote from on of the greatest movies ever made (so long, Mr Remis).  But it also leads us into my review of the Dermalogica Multivitamin Power Recovery Masque.  When I got a sample of it, I stuck it into my bathroom cabinet and it lived there for several weeks before I got around to trying it... I had other products that I fancied trying/using first so it had to be patient with me.

After a hectic but extremely fun weekend in Dublin (which included two nights outs where I and Mr. MontyC didn't see a bed before 3am, both nights), I stood in my bathroom looking at the reflection of a very knackered woman.  Think: death warmed up.  My makeup off, my face clean, I opened the cabinet to see what I might use that could be of help.  And that's when my little sample came to the rescue.  I slathered on a thick layer (it feels thick and creamy), left it on for a good ten minutes and then washed it off.

Wow.

That was exactly what I said out loud, to no one in particular, as I looked at myself in the mirror.  I was transformed.  My skin looked plumped, fresh, glowing with health, fresh as the proverbial daisy.  I was (and still am every time I use it) seriously impressed with both the immediate and the lasting results of this mask;  my skin still looked as good the following morning and for several days afterwards.

This is powerful, nutrient-rich stuff peeps.  It's packed full of vitamins (A, C and E to help repair damaged, ageing skin) antioxidants (to help reduce the stressed, ageing skin) and botanicals (to help your skin to get back on an even keel).  It also forms part of Dermalogica's AGE Smart range which is a range of products designed to help out with the early stages of ageing before they start.  For all that, I think that this masque would work brilliantly on more mature skin, or dry/dehydrated skin too.

I'm not crazy about the smell of it (it's not awful, it's just not to my taste) but that won't stop me buying the full size of this product (my sample was 15ml and I comfortably got three masques out of it and I still have a little left.  The full size is 75ml).  The makeup artist Lisa Eldridge rates this mask as one of her all time favourites and I can see why. The results blew me away.

I don't just want this product, I need it!
