So I had tried the cult favourite Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish before (see here) and really, was totally non-plussed.  In fact, it just didn't work for me.  I have been meaning to try out the Skin Repair Moisturiser for some time now too, as I've heard equally good things about it.

Hmmmm.

So I bought the Normal/Combination one, as my skin has been acting a little oilier than usual, thanks to the warmer summer weather - and it hadn't settled back into it's dry/combination usual self just yet used it day and night for three days.  By day two, I was starting to wonder.  By day three, I realised I had to stop.

It has a lot of great ingredients.  It's an oil-in-water emulsion, with a bunch of natural oils.  No parabens,  No animal extracts.  No silicones.  No petrochemicals or by-products thereof.  A mix of natural and chemical ingredients.  Nothing I would find objectionable and in other words, it reads like a genuinely good, no trickery, skincare product.

It smells absolutely gorgeous.  Divine, in fact.  It may be the nicest smelling moisturiser I have ever used.  It goes on easily.  It seems to work just nicely for a little while.  But it just wasn't for me.  Dry, flaky patches of skin appearing on areas of my (oilier) t-zone (WTAF?!) after two days.  Dry and tight areas on what would "usually" be my dryer skin areas after three.  I'm just glad that I didn't get the Oily/Combination one (I considered it) - what kind of state would my skin be in right now?  I try out a lot of different products, for differing skin types, and rarely do they have this rapid an effect on my skin.

So I can't in any conscience recommend this.  But then again, it comes in Normal/Combination, Combination/Oily, Dry/Sensitive & Superskin/Mature versions too - so perhaps there's something there for everyone.  I shall pawn it off on a friend to see if they have better luck.  In terms of price, €23 will buy you a 50ml tube - so the price point is good.  I know it's a cult product, and I know it gets a lot of love - it's just not going to get any from me.  I'll give it one thing - it has sped up my skins reversion to its norm.  That's about all it was useful for... I'm off to get myself a nice comforting, moisturising mask to calm down my poor frazzled face.
