Poudre Signée de Chanel - just another highlighter?

Poudre Signée de Chanel highlighter

Chanel's Spring Summer 2013 Makeup collection features a LE highlighter, Poudre Signée de Chanel, which is a beautiful warm subtle peach-beige.

I had decided, quite sensibly, that I didn't need this.  Yet another highlighter, I thought.

I had thought (see previous post) that it was just a more warmed-up peachier version of a previous Chanel highlighter (Lumière Sculptée de Chanel), but I was wrong; that one (Lumière Sculptée) was matte - this one (Poudre Signée) has a gorgeous but grown-up shimmer.

So who was I kidding.  As soon as I saw this, I realised I had to have it.  Another highlighter, perhaps, but a stunningly beautiful one.

Subtle but...

It manages to be sheer and glowy and shimmery in an understated way.  It's subtle enough at the same time to pile it on during the day (and I don't work in makeup as my day job).  It's not too metallic, it's not too shimmery.  It doesn't just sit on your face, it's not too powdery.  It's not frosted in any way, there's no glitter or glitz present.  It's just got that particular element of Chanel je ne sais quoi that very little other brands manage to achieve.

... just gorgeous

It comes with a large sponge applicator - I usually throw out the supplied applicators - but for some reason this time, I paused before ditching it - and in this particular case, it's absolutely the best applicator for the product, delivering just enough of the product where you want it.

How utterly beautiful is this...

I'm already using it to death.  It's been a while since I've felt the addict's pull :-)

Grab one if you can - seriously - it ain't cheap, and it's annoyingly LE, but the Chanel spring collection is still on counter.  I think it may be the last highlighter I ever buy*

(* Who am I kidding.  I am a highlighter whore).
