NYX Glitterati Glitter Cream Palette

This one is for the disco dancers, the dreamers, the teen-ers (and those of us who are magpies and try to justify purchasing all the makeup in the world for "my kit")...

Containing twenty one wax- and mineral-oil based glitter shades, this one is useful for... well... hmmm...

This was purchased in House of Fraser (Dublin) at Christmas last (2011) for in-or-around €15 as I recall and never really used, I decided it was high time to swatch it... so here goes:

Top Row.  I like the middle one, but I love love love orange.
The yellow and green are photographing much-of-a-muchness, but are subtly different IRL. 

Middle Row.  My favourite is the silvery-blue (third from the right)

Bottom Row.  LOVE the second in.  But it's similar to Shiseido Caviar and Chanel Mirifique
(minus the pricetag and the usability ;-)), both of which I have and use already

There's really not a lot to say about these.  There's a whopping amount of product here, and great value if you're into that kind of thing.  If you do need to carry glitters around, these are handy as they don't fall all over the place and create a mess.  And they come suspended in a wax, so they don't need a glitter "glue" to hold them in place.

They are glitter though, so they will still migrate everywhere, once on.  And the wax doesn't set, so they will crease.  They're not deemed "suitable for use in the eye area" according to the blurb on the back of the case...

... but then again, show me a glitter (this kind of glitter) that is supposedly safe for the eye area (if you want glitters for the eye area, you need to go for much much much smaller particles.  Think some of the Chanel Illusion d'Ombre shades, or the Make Up For Ever Aqua Creams or the Shiseido Shimmering Cream Eye Colour).

That said, I am wearing one of them (all the name of fun) today over an Aqua Colour (there's not a huge amount of pigmentation in these, just the colour of the glitter; the cream/wax base is clear, the pictures above are swatched very heavily), on my lids.  It's moving and creasing but that's ok if you don't mind that look.  I don't mind.

As I mentioned, the wax doesn't set, so it really doesn't matter if you put these on over a primer or on bare skin - they will still move. If you want glitter that hangs around and doesn't move too much, you're better off getting a dry (and finer) glitter, packing it on over a primer (I use Too Faced Glitter Glue).

This one will be relegated to the "Fancy Dress" stash, but it's still a fun piece of kit and cheap at the price.  As far as I know it's sold out, but well, you might find it somewhere...
